Call for Abstracts of Research
NCAFCS Annual Conference
February 24-26, 2012
Durham, NC
The NCAFCS Research Committee announces a Call for Abstracts of Research to be considered for presentation at the 2012 Annual Conference in Durham, NC. Abstracts will be judged in accordance with the following criteria:
o Significance, importance, or usefulness of the research
o Soundness of the research design
o Accuracy of analysis and interpretation of the research results
o Accuracy/relevance of the implications and/or conclusions
o Clarity and organization of written abstract, including meeting the requirements listed below
Acceptance for presentation, either poster or oral, obligates the author to register for and present his/her research at the annual conference.
Format for Abstract Submission
Abstracts must be submitted via email (Microsoft Word attachment) to Dr. Cheryl Lee (leecl@appstate.edu) no later than December 15, 2011. Submissions will be peer-reviewed, and applicants will be notified by February 1, 2012. The word attachment should be 1 page, 11-12 font.
The abstract must include the following sections in the order given: (accepted and presented abstracts are published on the NCAFCS web site; therefore, abstracts must follow this format or they will not be accepted).
- itle of the research
- Name(s) and title(s) of the author(s), and the name(s) of the institution(s) (following each name, in cases of multiple authors)
- Preference for the type of presentation (oral, poster, or no preference)
- Purpose and Rationale
- Methodology (including research design, data collection, and analysis procedures)
- Findings
- Conclusions and Implications for research and/or practice
