Calls for Abstracts of Research
NCAFCS Annual Meeting
March 27-28, 2009
Winston-Salem, NC
The NCAFCS Research Committee announces a Call for Abstracts of Research to be considered for presentation at the 2009 Annual Meeting at the Brookstown Inn in Winston-Salem, NC. Abstracts will be judged in accordance with the following criteria:

Significance of the research
-
Soundness of the research design
-
Accuracy of the interpretation of the research results
-
Accuracy/relevance of the implications and/or conclusions

Clarity and organization of writing
Acceptance for presentation, either poster or oral, obligates the author to present his/her research at the annual meeting. Presenters will be notified by March 2, 2009 about specific presentation times.
Format for Abstract Submission
The abstract must be clearly typed on plain white 8 ½ x 11 inch paper with 1-inch margins. The abstract should not exceed 1 page, 11-12 font. Center the title of the presentation on the first line. Center the author(s)’ name on the second line; follow the name of the presenting author with an asterisk (*). On the third line, center the name of the institution. Leave the fourth line blank. Single space text within the remaining portion of the page, within the 1-inch margins. The abstract should include these sections in the following order: Purpose, Procedures, Findings, and Implications.

I understand that if the abstract is accepted for either poster or oral presentation, the presenting author is obligated to present this research at the annual meeting.

Mail abstract and submission form to: Dr. Cheryl Lee, NCAFCS Research Chair, Department of Family & Consumer Sciences, Appalachian State University, Boone, NC 28608. Abstracts must be received no later than February 2, 2009. For accepted abstracts, further information regarding presentation will be sent by March 2, 2009.
